Audio-Visual Facilities

What will be there:
Data projection, with audio, will be available in the presentation rooms. The built-in equipment hook-ups consist of a standard VGA cable and a 3.5mm audio cable (TRS male output).

What will not be there:
Rooms are not equipped with computers; presenters should bring their own personal computers and hook them into the system provided.
Participants must provide their own adaptors/dongles and/or power cables for their personal computers/devices.
Stand-alone audio-players, such as CD-players, tape-players, and phonographs, will not be available. Please make arrangements to play audio on personal devices.

Wi-Fi on campus

Throughout the Claremont Colleges/Pomona College campus, free Wi-Fi can be obtained without the need for a password. Select the network called “Pomona-Guest.”

Parking and directions

The conference is located at “Thatcher Music Building, Pomona College” or 340 N. College Ave., Claremont, CA 91711.
The South Campus Parking Structure (295 E. First St.) provides ample and free lot-parking, at a distance of 8 minutes’ walk / 0.4 miles from the conference site. Drivers with disability placards may park in designated spaces in the small lot near Sumner Hall (333 N. College Way).
Recommended: Closer, street-parking can usually be scouted on the calm streets that flank the western side of campus, including Campus Ave., Harvard, Fourth St., and Bonita.

Except where marked, street parking is free and unlimited. Note, however, that “overnight parking” (leaving a vehicle on the street after 2am) is not permitted in the city of Claremont.
Detailed directions are below. These terminate at the campus parking structure. After parking, walk North on Columbia Ave., then turn left on Bonita Ave. After coming to College Ave., turn right and Thatcher Music Building will soon appear on the right.

From the I-210 East: Exit Towne Avenue. Turn right onto Towne, traveling south until reaching Foothill Boulevard. Turn left onto Foothill. Travel east on Foothill to Indian Hill Boulevard, turn right and proceed approximately one mile to E. 1st Street and turn left. Take E. 1st Street to Columbia Avenue (it is the stop sign just past College Avenue) and turn left to enter the parking structure on the right.

From I-10 headed East: Exit Indian Hill Boulevard. Turn left off the freeway onto Indian Hill Blvd. and drive north about one mile to 1st Street. Turn right onto E. 1st Street. Take 1st Street to Columbia (it is the stop sign just past College Ave) and turn left to enter the parking structure on the right.

From I-10 headed West: Exit Indian Hill Boulevard. Turn right off the freeway onto Indian Hill Blvd. and drive north about one mile to 1st Street. Turn right onto E. 1st Street. Take 1st Street to Columbia (it is the stop sign just past College Ave) and turn left to enter the parking structure on the right.

From I-210 headed West: Exit Baseline Avenue. Turn right onto Baseline Ave. Turn left onto Monte Vista. Turn right onto Claremont Blvd. Take Claremont Blvd. to 1st Street (approx. 2 mi.) Turn right onto 1st Street. Take 1st Street to Columbia (stop sign), and enter the parking structure on the right.

Limited Discount:

While the Doubletree Claremont cannot not offer a group rate, they have offered to apply a discount to a number of rooms on a first come, first served basis. At the time of writing, the discounted rate during the conference dates is about $129-$134/night—about $100 less than their regular rates. Please make your booking as soon as possible, as the discount-rate rooms will not be held in reserve.
